At a February 24 reception in Ha Noi for Takebe Tsutomu, Special Advisor to the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance (JVFPA), Vuong applauded Takebe, in his capacity as Secretary General of Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party and JVFPA President in the past and JVFPA Special Advisor at present, for his great contributions to fostering ties relations between the two nations.
He voiced his hope that Takebe and the alliance will make greater contributions to stepping up bilateral cooperation across a variety of areas such as personnel development.
The host suggested Japan help Vietnam develop energy, support industry, manufacturing and high technology, while strengthening collaboration in agriculture, labour and tourism, people-to-people exchange and partnerships between localities.
The Japanese guest, for his side, hailed the development of the Vietnam-Japan extensive strategic partnership in multiple fields, and appreciated Vietnam’s performance in combating COVID-19.
He briefed the host on the building of the Vietnam-Japan University, which is set to open in September.
Takebe also pledged his more contributions to the relationship between Vietnam and Japan.
