About 100 delegates will attend the Vietnam Summer Camp 2017 from July 18 to 31 in Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, as well as some provinces in the Mekong Delta.

According to the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), all delegates are students and young people representing Vietnamese offspring abroad from the age of 16 - 23. Beside having good academic or work record, the selected delegates had attended and contributed to the organizations of Vietnamese youth community towards their homeland.

With the topic “Overseas youth is proud of Southern land”, the program's agenda aimed to educate people of the tradition “Gratitude is the sign of noble souls” and teach them about the country’s historical culture, customs, as well as its people. In addition, the participants will take part in charity activities, exchange programs with young people and local student and learn about culture and the reservation of the environment in the Mekong Delta.

Specifically, the delegation will thurify at the Uncle Ho Statue at the Nha Rong Port and in the evening, the official opening ceremony of the Vietnam Summer Camp 2017 will take place at the Youth House of Culture of Ho Chi Minh City.

From July 20-21, the delegation will visit Ben Duoc Temple, Cu Chi Tunnels, War Remnants Museum, Independence Palace and then have a meeting with John Hung Tran – an overseas Vietnamese American who is famous for the book "John finds Hung".

On July 22, overseas compatriots will start exploring the Southwest of Vietnam. Their first destination will be Tien Giang province, where they visit Vinh Trang pagoda, Cai Be gardens, and go sightseeing fruit trees, craft villages and Cai Be ancient house on boat. After that, the delegation will come to Cao Lanh city (Dong Thap province) to visit Nguyen Sinh Sac's Mausoleum. The delegate will have an exchange program with the Youth Union of the province and hold some charity programs together here.

From July 24, delegates from Vietnam Summer Camp 2017 will come to Chau Doc city (An Giang province) to visit Tram Chim. Then, they will move to Ha Tien Town (Kien Giang province) where they visit Cam Mountain Resort, Thach Dong, the boundary stone 314 and sunbathe on Mui Nai beach.

In Rach Gia city (Kien Giang province), the delegation will have an interesting trip in Mac Cuu Tomb and then move to Hon Dat district to visit the tomb of Sister Su. On July 27, they will go to Ninh Kieu wharf, get on boat while visiting Cai Rang Floating Market in Can Tho. After that, they will depart for Soc Trang to visit Doi Pagoda.

Especially, from July 28, the delegation will depart for Ca Mau to visit Milestone coordinates, Ca Mau cape symbols and many other charity activities. This is also the place where the official closing ceremony of Vietnam Summer Camp 2017 will be held on July 29 to end the journey of discovering the South. This can be considered a difference between the summer camp this year compared to the previous ones which have been held annually in recent years.
